Hotel Alloggi Agli Artisti

Here you see a Western woman supposedly rich in wealth, education and culture, resting her feet on the back of the chair in front of her.

Well, she's not a total case ... she did take off her shoes.

Hotel accomodation cost a packet during the period of our trip and in early September.

We booked Hotels.com which went through easily and smoothly. No charges until you book in.

But it was an excellent choice for its location practically next door to a water-bus stop, a canal bridge, restaurants and the main railway station. If you plan to tour other Italian cities by rail after Venice, then staying close to a railway station makes it easy to trundle your luggage bags along those cobblestone lanes to the station.

The hotel is on a side street Calle Priuli (see the white street name sign on the yellow wall). The hotel name sign is in black just under the street name sign.

The street is more like a narrow lane which is too narrow for even a single vehicle lane!

But most streets in Venice are this size.

Check-in counter is a hole in the wall as you stand on the first staircase landing. Cute little building.

And here is a busy occasion with two guys in attendance. The younger guy is actually your typical good-looking Italian but somehow he looks weird in this shot. Sorry, old chap.

The next few photos are not your touristy ones, but they are real gems, of a beautiful working vintage window.

Just enjoy them.P1120436P1120429 P1120437 P1120433P1120677

The breakfast room on the ground floor.

Breakfast (included) was all you could eat of cereals, cheeses, two types of fruit juisce, coffee and tea, milk, and pastries.

Very fresh. Sadly, no eggs.P1120309
