End of cruise

P1120210
Ship has docked but we could still stay aboard overnight till disembarkation tomorrow.

Many have joined the ship's land tour of Venice.

We went ashore to check out our Venice hotel which is somewhere beyond that tower crane. P1120211

After about 2-3km we came upon the real Venetian canalside landscape.

Lots of people, mostly tourists, canalroadside souvenier stalls, and heaps of interesting sights and views.

Our hotel was somewhere across that bridge in the distance.

Here we are under a huge tree in large plaza, looking at the steps to the Venice Railway Station.

A tall temporary structure is being constructed in the centre of the plaza. P1120214

There's the bridge near our hotel.

The railway station is about 200 metres from our hotel and both are on the same side of the canal.

It's clearer in the combined shot below. P1120217

There was a canal "bus" boat stop at this plaza as well as a kiosk where "bus" tickets are sold.

All the kiosks are opened only for short periods daily. P1120218

It's advisable to get up to a kiosk and read every permanent and temporary notice when the kiosk is closed, before you queue to buy tickets later.P1120265

According to this notice, there are 4 types of tickets ....
P1120264

..... while this notice shows that there are 6 types of tickets.

Be careful and make sure that you buy the ticket that is most suitable for your need. P1120219

It is illegal to litter, go bare-chested, vandalise public property, or leave behind your dog's poo.P1120221 P1120222    P1120229
